Don Tarbell continues to produce outstanding programs for his agents. Many regard this year as the best--over the top.
There was a full production of "My Fair Lady" and they brought in Christopher Cazenove from London to play the lead. Veteran Broadway star Susan Egan was equally incredible. The voice of Hugh Panaro is always one of my favorites. There were so many outstanding performers that I wonder what Broadway was doing with them here and not on a New York stage. I'm sure the sunny days we are having made it easy to entice them to leave behind all the snow.
Another favorite performer was Nita Whitaker. No one can match her singing talent and we are so fortunate to have her and many others as repeat performers. If you are interested in how good these people are--just goggle info on them.
Songs from Briagadoon were sung by some of the cast members as well as the Young Americans. You can't beat their energy and the enthusiasm and talent they bring to the stage. There was so much star power that it was overwhelming.
Did I tell you Mark Watters was back with his elite orchestra to provide the music. We also had the Nicholosn Pipes and Drums that put on quite a show. The production was long but we didn't mind. We were all captivated. Don and Betsy Tarbell did it again!
I've learned that if you want to know the inside of what happens, talk to staff that works the area. I had that verified when one of the ushers said she had never seen anything like the production we were seeing there at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. She has been around a long time and even she was highly impressed.
Following this incredible performance our company held its awards presentation and recognized those agents who put in a lot of work in a difficult market. Next year should be even better. I did get an award this year and expect to be back on stage next year.
